As part of my carving process I always like to challenge myself. In this case, I was trying to see if I could carve a mesh cage out of a single stone with a free moving part of the original stone trapped inside. It was fairly difficult and especially hard to sand. As it turned out, there is a way to get the "trapped" inner stone out that I discovered after I finished carving but still achieved my original goal. While the outer edges of the mesh are nicely sanded and polished, the inside as well as the "trapped" stone are intentional left in the unfinished state. I hope you find it as fun to look at as I do.
